About

DNS TAPIR (DNS Threat and Privacy Internet Research) is today an architecture and prototype for an open system for collecting, analyzing and supporting the filtering of unwanted DNS traffic. It's being developed in a collaboration between The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS), the Swedish Internet Foundation (IIS), Netnod and Sunet.

The service enables analysis of large amounts of DNS query data in a privacy-protected way - and real-time identification of security threats to Internet users.

Phase 1 of the DNS TAPIR project was funded by PTS, The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority. In addition Netnod AB, Vetenskapsrådet and Swedish Internet Foundation contributed resources to the project.

The current phase is mainly funded by Swedish Internet Foundation. In addition Netnod AB, Vetenskapsrådet contributes resources to the project.
